Description
2015 Gibson Memphis ES-335 Government Series 1 – Gunmetal Grey ES335 Limited Edition with Black Binding… Very rare.
1 of 300 made.. This is 190. The guitar was checked out thoroughly by ToneShop in Texas before I bought it and they gave it a clean bill of health. Everything works perfectly and the truss rod has play both ways. There is hardly a scratch on it, minor play wear, a few things to mention but they are minimal… There is some minor wear on the neck where the previous owner hung it up, pictured. Hard to capture in a picture and barely noticeable but its there. There is also glossing of the satin finish on the back of the neck from being played which is typical of satin finishes and to be expected.. comes with all the documentation, and the special Government series pick guard. No real wear to speak of on that as I don’t think the previous owner played it much and I don’t use a pick.
This neck is superb, great fret job, a fast smooth play. I really think Gibson went the extra mile to make sure these guitars were awesome. I have a Les Paul in this series and same thing, just a phenomenal playing neck and fret job.
The case does have a few white paint marks on it. They may look like rips but they are not. Its def white paint and you could probably get it off but I didn’t want to mess with it.
There is a ton of info about this special model but here are basics:
The Government Series ES-335 has an incredible story as unique as the instrument itself! Utilizing rosewood recovered by Gibson from the US government after the much publicized seizure in August 2011, the Government Series ES-335 features all of the fantastic upgrades found in the 2016 Memphis line, including a Gunmetal Grey nitro finish, rolled black binding, a black corian nut, a specially embossed pick guard, and a set of high output Dirty Fingers humbucker pickups. Each Government Series 335 includes a very cool “Currency Green” hardshell case that’s eye catching and appropriate.
Well there you have it. Already selling it for less than I paid so no lowball offers please. I love this guitar and hate to part with it but I just want something else more and so it goes…
